Performance Analysis of High-Speed Electric Machines Supplied by PWM Inverters Based on the Harmonic Modeling Method

This paper presents a method for the performance analysis of high-speed electric machines supplied with pulse-width modulated voltage source inverters by utilizing fast analytical model. By applying strict mathematical procedure, effective expressions calculation rotor eddy current losses and electromagnetic torque are derived. Results obtained approach suggested in this study verified finite element model, it is shown that proposed superior comparison to terms computation time. The enables parameter variation analysis, which demonstrated changing inverter switching frequency conductivity analyzing effects these changes on losses. presented work separately models permanent magnet stator currents, making suitable both induction machines.
